Centre for Environmental Design Research

The Center for Environmental Design Research (CEDR) is an Organized Research Unit of the University of California at Berkeley. Located in the College of Environmental Design (comprised of the departments of Architecture, City and Regional Planning, and Landscape Architecture), the Center assists the research of faculty, students, and others interested in the design and planning of the built environment". This home page gives details of research carried out by various departments within the CEDR including: Building Science Group; Center for Built Environment; Cities, design & the Internet International Workshop; Geographic Information Systems and Land Use Planning; Geomorphology & Hydrology in Environmental River Management; IASTE (International Association for the Study of Traditional Environments); Vital Signs project.

The ISI Web of Science provides access to the Social Sciences Citation Index, the Arts and Humanities Citation Index and the Science Citation Index. "The Social Sciences Citation Index is a multidisciplinary database, with searchable author abstracts, covering the journal literature of the social sciences. It indexes more than 1,725 journals spanning 50 disciplines, as well as covering individually selected, relevant items from over 3,300 journals." The database was formerly hosted at BIDS and is now hosted at MIMAS (Manchester Information and Associated Services).

Description: This bibliography lists some 99 items, mainly books and journal articles, relating to the Karamoja region of Uganda. The time period covered runs from the 1950s to the 1990s. In the areas of history, ethnography, linguistics, and the social sciences, it is "reasonably complete", but less so in the areas of natural, medical, agricultural, and veterinary sciences. Government reports or reports issued by international organizations are excluded.
