StatBase (UK National Statistics Online)

StatBase is a detailed bibliographic catalogue of offical statistical sources that are produced by the Government Statistical Service. The site also gives access to datasets which can be downloaded. The catalogue provides an abstract for the source, dataset or product and a range of additional information about the item which could include a description of the frequency, geographical coverage and legal status

Handbook for Mixed Method Evaluations

This is a free user-friendly guide to evaluation research using mixed methods. It was published by the Directorate for Education and Human Resources (EHR) National Science Foundation in 1997. The Handbook seeks to introduce a broad perspective for evaluation research which combines both quantitative and qualitative techniques. The guide includes an indepth discussion of the collection and analysis of qualitative data, and discusses how they can be combined effectively with quantitative measures.

Introduction to Quantitative Methods

This is an online course in basic statistics. It has been developed by Professor Gene V Glass from the College of Education at Arizona State University USA. Although developed primarily for the students of Professor Glass the information may also be usefule for teachers and students elsewhere.

Qualitative Research Interest Group (QRIG)

This is the homepage of the Qualitative Research Interest Group (QRIG) website. The site is maintained by David Morgan, an academic interested in qualitative research based at Portland State University in the United States.

First published in hard copy in 1995, Qualitative Inquiry is now available electronically via those libraries that have subscriptions and arrangements with a subscription agent. The journal is cross-disciplinary and its focus is 'on methodological issues raised by qualitative research rather than the content or results of the research'.
